Cranes for Cancer

Honoring our Heroes

Open for all, Cranes for Cancer is BFPC’s signature annual event where we gather to honor our pediatric cancer heroes and their families! The heart of the event is the stories shared by our cancer hero guests, and surrounding that, we have guest speakers from the pediatric cancer research field plus a fun raffle of prizes donated by sponsors.

Cranes for Cancer gets it’s name from the Japanese tradition of senbazuru (folding 1,000 origami cranes) to grant the recipient good luck. With this in mind, we honor each cancer hero by presenting them with a shadow box of 1,000 hand-folded cranes for them to keep. In this way, Cranes for Cancer embodies all that BFPC is: community, friendship, and service.

This past year we were able to raise $10,018 for pediatric cancer research through Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation! Thank you to everyone who donated and for everyone who made Cranes For Cancer 2025 possible
